Creating a “Mouse on Mushroom”: My Drawing Technique

To bring my “Mouse on Mushroom” illustration to life, I start with a rough outline using a harder charcoal pencil.

From there, I layer and blend various shades of charcoal and graphite, as well as rubbers and smudging stumps to achieve the desired tones and textures.

I’m elated with how the piece turned out – it’s definitely one of my favorites to date.
