Bring a deeply personal memory, a beloved pet, or a treasured landscape to life through the timeless beauty of charcoal. Each bespoke commission is a meticulous study in light, shadow, and texture, hand-drawn in my studio using traditional artist charcoals on premium archival paper.
Weather capturing the character of a local landmark like ‘The George’ or creating a lasting tribute to a family farm, a custom drawing offers a unique, evocative statement for your home.
How To Commission Your Artwork
The commission process is designed to be detailed, collaborative , and straightforward from start to finish:
- The Reference Material: Every drawing begins with your photographs. You provide clear, high-quality images of your chosen subject. If you need assistance, I can help select or help digitally enhance your reference images to ensure the lighting and composition translate perfect into charcoal.
- Sizing & Composition: We will discuss the ideal dimensions for your space. Custom commissions are primarily created in standard A5, A4 or A3 sizes to allow for effortless framing.
- Securing Your Booking: Once the details are finalized, a secure deposit is taken via a SumUp Payment Link to reserve your place on the studio calendar.

Caring For Your Original Art
Original charcoal drawings contain raw, loose pigments that create beautiful, non-reflective deep blacks, but this also makes the surface highly delicate and smudgeable.
- Handling: Always hold the paper strictly by its borders. Avoid touching the face of the drawing.
- Framing: Keep your custom piece inside its protective studio packaging until it is ready to be framed. Original charcoal must always be mounted and framed under glass to preserve the artwork from moisture, dust, and smudges for lifetimes to come.
