All visual content, conceptual drawings, layout sketches, and written text displayed on CutsforthArtistry.co.uk are the exclusive intellectual property of the artist, Leane Cutsforth, and are fully protected under UK and international copyright laws.
1. Retention of Artistic Rights
- The Physical vs. Intellectual Asset: When a collector acquires an original charcoal drawing, a custom private commission, or a limited-edition Giclée print, they are purchasing ownership of the physical substrate (the paper) only.
- No Transfer Rights: The absolute copyright, reproduction rights, and digital distributions rights remain permanently with me as the sole artist.
- The Core Limitation: Acquisition does not grant the buyer the right to scan, copy, replicate, print, or commercially exploit the artwork in any medium, digital or physical.
2. Forbidden Digital & Commercial Use
To protect the market value of origianl works held by my collectors, the following actions are strictly prohibited without an explicit, legally signed licensing agreement from the studio:
- Digital Reproduction: Downloading portfolio images to use as promotional material, website backdrops, social media branding or digital avatars.
- Commercial Merchandising: Replicating any portion of a design onto clothing, products, print-on-demand items, or packaging.
- AI Training Networks: Any scraping, indexing, or feeding of my monochrome imagery, “subtractive texture carving” studies, or anatomical layouts into artificial intelligence or machine learning databases is strictly breach of copyright law.
3. Private Display & Secondary Sales
- Private Exhibition: Collectors are fully encouraged to display their acquired heirlooms within private residential spaces, heritage estates, or corporate offices.
- Resale Transparency: In the event of a future private resale on the secondary market, the physical Certificate of Authenticity must remain permanently with the specific artwork to verify its provenance and asset registry.
- Public Gallery Exhibition: If an institution or corporate collector wishes to include an acquired piece in a public gallery exhibition, please contact the studio in advance to secure formal curatorial clearance.
